Come Ski Whiteface Mountain; Home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics

Whiteface Mountain at the north end of Lake Placid, looks out over the lake and village to the Great Range of the Adirondack High Peaks and beyond. The ski area boasts a history that includes hosting more National and World Cup competitions than most North American ski mountains will ever see.

Whiteface also offers the fastest lift on the continent—the Cloudsplitter Gondola—and a 3,430 foot vertical drop, the greatest east of the Rockies. 283 skiable acres, including 35 acres of “out of bounds” skiing, 53 acres of tree skiing, and a 15-acre terrain park. 88 trails are serviced by 11 lifts that can move 14,900 people/hour. Terrain for snowboard & ski cross are also featured. 20% beginner, 42% intermediate, and 38% expert.
